Steel framed 1911 Commander size, why did you choose yours?

Had an aluminum frame, didn't like the way it shot. Dumped it for a Ruger SR1911 CMD and loved it, later upgraded to a DW VBob. Hard to beat that in a carry gun.

Let's see. I've owned both steel and lightweight commanders in .45acp, .38sup and 9mm. They were all Series 70 pistols in blue steel and satin nickel. My remaining one is a custom worked .45 steel frame. For .38sup I have a full size 1911 and a High Power for the 9mm. If I need lightweight I have a .45 Kimber Ultra Carry.
