The bench I use for reloading was actually built for the garage - to build automatic transmissions on. Heavy enough for that, but not heavy enough for reloading (5/8" plywood top with 3/16 slick fiber board on top of the plywood), doubled 2x4 legs, & bottom shelf plated with 1/2" plywood).

The Rockchucker & the turrets are fine, but I could not mount them up against the bench top because of the press mechanism that hang out the bottom/rear of the presses when operating.

Finally lucked onto some 3/8" plate. Cut a 2x10 to fit under the bench top (between the 2x4 runners front & rear) and attached the steel plate to the top of the bench - securing through the benchtop and into the 2x10.

I did drill and tap each plate, installed studs, and attached each press to the plates. Took about an hour for three presses.

This REALLY tied everything together.

If you are debating on completing this mod to your bench, GO FOR IT! You will be glad that you did.

Been there done that and I agree 100% with you:

Instead of threading the holes for the bolts for mounting the presses I welded the studs onto the plate. I guarantee this setup doesn't flex a bit. I am anxious to see how you setup your bench.

Great job.I mounted a piece of 1/2" steel plate about 2x3 ft on the back of my bench and mounted all my presses to 1/2" steel plates it works great. The bench is about 220 lbs now by itself.
