I got a cheap but tackdriving Stevens 200, the stock is butt ugly. It is black sythetic and I plan to paint it, what kind of paint would stick better on this kind of stock? I wanted to but a Boyds stock on it, but my magazine is part of the stock, so I cant use it, does anybody know of a stock out there for a Stevens 200?

I've never painted any of my stocks but there's tons of people that have done it on here just using the Krylon camo spray paints

I have one of those but it has the really ugly grey-blue stock. I painted mine with Krylon rattle cans, just the ordinary stuff from Wally World. It has held up very well. My first attempt was with Krylon Fusion because it's made for plastic. Didn't work for me. I am very light complected and use sunscreen. I use "Baby Magic" 50 SPF. I'm allergic to the regular adult stuff. :( First trip to the range after the Fusion paint job I noticed the stock sticking to my cheek after awhile. The paint had melted from the sunscreen. If you don't use sunscreen I would recommend Fusion because it was really tough and hard to sand off the stock. I haven't had a problem with the regular Krylon.
