Ive got a Stevens/Savage model 67 series E. It has an issue. This gun absolutely refuses to eject shells and I have to litteraly dump them from the gun. Does anybody know what causes this problem and how it may be resolved?:banghead:

Broken ejector? Is it leaving them in the chamber? Or just not spitting them out?

Are they coming out of the magazine?
Your post is a little unclear, I think.
Please describe what is happening (or not happening) in more detail.
Thanks.

Its kinda half and half it pulls on the shell for about an inch and then lets go.

Then you are talking about failure to extract ?

If the empty case is not being pulled completely out of the chamber, the first thing to look at is cleaning and polishing the chamber.

Follow this by checking the extractors for damage and proper tension.

If the case is being pulled from the chamber but drops into the action rather than ejecting from the gun through the port, then you have an ejection problem. This can be caused by the extractors as well, if they are damaged or the tension is so loose they will not hold the empty to the face of the bolt during its full rearward travel.

At the rearward part of the travel the base of the shell is suppose to make contact with the the ejector (this is a small plunger assy that is screwed onto the left inside of the receiver on your shotgun). The ejector would then break the empty free from the jaws of the extractor and toss it out of the ejection port.

Yep, sounds like extraction issues. As above, a good cleaning is in order first. You might try a spray blast product like gun scrubber. Be sure to clean the bolt head really good. There may be some built up gunk around the extractor(s) that won't let them work properly. Also, make sure the chamber is good and clean. Even plastic from the hulls can build up on the chamber and make it hard to extract.
Most likely it's a combination of all these things.
You may also have a weak extractor spring that may need replacing.
I'd start with the good cleaning and go from there.
