I am getting to the point that I am not liking my "Tupperware" rifle stock on my Stevens 200 270 WCF and the lightness of it and feel of it just doesn't quite cut it.

I have handled a few factory Savage rifle stocks and they are nice...I am looking for a bit heavier stock though as my fiancee will be starting to shoot with me and she likes the rifle. with this extra factor, LOP will be an issue (I'm 6'1" and she is 5'6") so I am thinking this will have to come from a semi-custom rifle stock manufacturer...UNLESS...someone around here can point me in the proper direction for a good stock...doesn't have to be new or anything, though.

Any ideas? :)

I didn't like the lightweight synthetic stock that came on my savage .22 bolt action. It was far too light aft and felt like a tiller.
I soon found that the empty space in the buttstock could be packed with extra ammo and and extra clip, plus a pullthrough and cleaning gear, and even a small lockblade in its belt pouch.
This evened out the balance and gave it the proper heft.

I intend to install snaps and a rubber seal on the buttplate to make everything more easily accessible and waterproof.

I've got two Bell and Carlson Duramax, and two B&C Medalists. Very happy with them. If you want a stock that is adjustable for LOP, get ready to drop some cash. My 13 year old daughter shoots my full size stocks without a problem. If it's that big of an issue, get your GF her own gun.

I've seen a few rifles that were cut down when a shooter was younger but the section removed was kept and later refitted to the stock with a whiteline spacer as the shooter grew into it.
One Pump Shotgun I fired had the cut away section replaced with a two inch thick section of clear plastic. That one kicked like bruce lee, possibly because of the plastic.

I am guessing that the recoil pad to trigger is about 13” and if you looked at even a Choate Ultimate Varmint stock that is adjustable by means of spacers you will only be able to get down to about 12” without modification. As for weight, that’s easy as long as it’s adding weight you can add weight to almost any thing by simply adding lead or steel shot. My suggestion, if you are so inclined, would be to pull off the butt plate and see just how much shorter it needs to be and look carefully at the contours for possibly cutting it. As for adding weigh, try some old bolts that you may have laying around, wrap them in a rag so that they don’t clank, sandwich all that behind the butt plate until you are happy with the amount, then glue them in or keep them removable in case you want to pack it next deer season.

You might try Boyds Stocks. Well pleased with drop in finished M-1
Garand stocks that were replacements for some REALLY beat up ones
on six Ceremonial rifles. Very nice wood on all with two need just a small
amout of wood removal around the trigger group. Direct purchase is
the least expensive. They put out a free catalog!
