i am looking for info on stevens arms manufactured in late 30,s and 40,s. i have a collection of stevens tenite guns, and am looking to see what models i might be missing, and some sort of value. i have spent man-years filling this collection. i have 13 guns with tenite stocks and forearms. 12 16 20 410 singles model 94,s . 12 16 20 410 double,s model 311,s . a 22-410 over under, a 410 -410 over under, a 12 gauge pump, a 12 gauge bolt, a 22 bolt. i am wondering if there are any other 22,s in tenite. also looking for advertising on these guns. thanks skinner two

Don't think you will find much interest. I bought a Stevens tenite 12 gauge double and sawed it off to 20 inches. I think that it handles much better now. I occasionally consider restocking it, but that is way down on my list. I never really think of getting rid of it. You are the first person I have seen showing much interest in these guns.

I think that is just neat, a collecting niche not running into mass amounts of money.
Do you have the Model 124 Cross Bolt Repeater shotgun? Looks like an auto at first glance.

I can't help much on prices.
I googed a post that said the first listing for Tenite stocks was in the 1940 Stevens catalog. Models were added after the war but only lasted through 1951.

Cornell does reprints of period catalogues. A quick search shows Tenite mentioned in several places.

Other listings there.

If you contact them, they will do a very limited amount of lookup for you. Especially if you should say "Send me every catalog with mention of Tenite stocks."

Just really neat guns there, I have never known anyone to collect them though. I always liked their single shots shotguns with the Tenite. I shot one when I was a small kid on pheasants in 16 ga., always kicked the snot out of me, but it was a well made firearm.

There was a model 87T semi auto .22. I had one for a while and like you a collector for a time. It all started with my grandfather's model 124 straight bolt action 12 gauge he bought new around 1956 or so. Grew up with it hunting everything from rabbits and squirrels to deer with slugs. Hope you find them all and good luck. IMG_0638_zpspucxazeq.jpg

From your list I see one of the most common missing. The 87T .22 semi auto. I've always ment to pick one of those up to go with my 87D. I have a 107B single shot 12ga in VG condition. Bought it for 20 bucks 30years ago.I cut the 28" barrel to 19" last fall to make it more handy buck shot gun. I checked prices on the auction sites to see if it was worth anything as a collector and for the most part they went around 100-125.00 if any bids at all. So I shortened it. Post a pic of your collection. We'd love to see them. I never saw a bolt action Tenite .22.

At one time those Tenite stocks could be found all over - all over the woods and fields across the country. The problem was finding one that was in one piece. If that stock material was not the worst choice Savage ever made, it came close. It was so bad that when Remington came out with their Nylon stock, we spent a lot of time trying to persuade customers that the Remington stock material was NOT the same as the Savage "junk plastic."
