I think I'm going to be using this setup for a while:

Steyr AUGA3 with a Aimpoint Micro on a KAC mount. I went with the KAC as it has full lugs and I can get lower 1/3rd cowitness with the irons.

Surefire X300 Ultra with tape switch taped to VFG. I get more barrel shadow than I like but the light is out of the way w/o having to do extra rails.

The irons are surplus HK416 sights from the sale RTG was doing a couple months ago. I do like the open notch that the 100m setting has.

All in all it's a very short, well balanced rifle that fits me very nicely.

I've never been much for bullpups, but that is a nice rifle! I'm sure one of these days I will break down and get one. No doubt in my mind that it would be either an AUG or a Tavor. I'm sure each has their pros and cons in comparison. I just haven't bothered to look into it. Either way, that AUG should be pretty awesome. Let us know how she shoots.

I like. However, i'm awaiting the manticore arms 30 mm scope mount to use with a 1-4X. It replaces the top rail.

Very nice rifle you have there! I truly think bullpups are the wave of the future.

Or of the past, considering it was first adopted in 1978.

It's a interesting design and actually very conservative. They're using an aluminum alloy receiver, but all of the wear points have steel liners. All of the bolt and barrel stress is taken by a steel trunnion that's inserted into the receiver. You can feel the steel in it when you pick it up, it's not the lightest rifle I own for sure.

Brian, is Steyr releasing different stock colors now? Yours looks much lighter than any other I've seen.

As far as I I know Steyr is only doing black and OD green. Mine is light but I haven't seen other OD green AUGs in person to compare mine to.

I have heard (from PJ Athens) that Steyr may be doing a run of FDE AUGs. Don't know if that's complete rifles or stocks or both.
