I remember some else posting about having firing pin problems with their M357, mine hasn't broken but there have been a couple instances where the pin failed to hit hard enough to fire or even mark the primer for that matter. I disassembled the slide to clean the firing pin and to inspect it. No damage, it was dirty though. The thing that got my attention and has bothered me, is that the firing pin spring gets bunched up in the firing pin housing and actually rubs against the sides of it. Even when it is fully extended when its on the firing pin rod and then inserted within the firing pin sleave it rubs against the side. So when the spring gets compressed it probably rubs against the sleave even more. This doesn't seem normal to me, is it?
Also my firing pin and spring had two retention pins ( to keep the spring on the rod) on it. The parts diagram shows only one pin. I was wondering if anyone else had two pins and if that is normal. Of course having two of them would compress the spring even more which could be contributing to the problem but then again I didn't know if that was done to create more power? *shrugs*
Thanks
