I am becoming more and more enamored with the Steyr M40-A1. I've seen the negatives, but mine has been flawless over ~700 rounds.

What I like/love most is the ridiculously easy way it field strips. It's a push button! Genius! What other guns have a similar "push button" disassemble mechanism?

Yep, Beretta. I just checked a YouTube video. Looks like Glocks are pretty easy, too.

Thanks

Just to let you know where I'm coming from: I've only stripped Springfield and Ruger autos until the Steyr.

I want an M40A1. I think I'll sell one of my M9s and/or a 226 357SIG to justify it. The Steyr M9 is the easiest pistol to disassemble in my collection. Following that I would probably rate them:

2. SIG (along with M&P9 and FNP9)
3. Glock
4. HK USP
5. CZ75
6. P38
7. 1911
8. CZ52 (guess I haven't figured out the trick to removing/replacing the barrel with ease)
9. Buckmark (not combat pistol so doesn't really compare)

It makes sense that the older models are 6,7,8 and the CZ75 is the same as the USP, but it's just easier on the HK for me. If it is too easy, some kung fu criminal like Jet Li will take your gun apart before you can shoot him.

Sold my M9-A1 as I much prefer the Glock 19, which to me is just as easy to field strip. Walther P99's are right there as well.
