I just got a M95 from a friend. It was in atrocious shape (not his fault), and missing a bolt. I just picked up a bolt, and tried mating it with the receiver. First of all, allow me to say that getting that stupid bolt head extended and into under the stripper bridge was about as much fun as smashing my head in with a shovel. :banghead: However, once I got it in there the action seems to work reasonably smoothly, with one notable exception:

I can't get the bolt to cock.

I cycle the action to the rear, then bring it forward, and the bolt never catches on the sear. I'm not sure if something is out of spec, if it is just the fact that I don't have any strippers or ammo, if I'm just not doing something properly manual-of-arms-wise, or if I'm missing a part on the receiver side of things (the bolt looks complete). I can post pics later, if it will help.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

It is possible that someone cut down the sear or the cocking piece in an attempt to "improve" the trigger pull. Otherwise, I can't see how the bolt wouldn't stay cocked. Can you tell if the cocking piece is engaging the sear at all, or completely missing it?

It looks like it is not touching the engagement surface on the bottom of the bolt at all. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow. I have a sneaking suspicion that I might be missing a part, but I'm not sure what.

Thanks,

Mike
