I fell in love with the looks of the Commander size STI Ranger II and I would like to know if anybody has had any good or bad experiences with these guns.

I have one

I too fell in love with the Ranger II at a local shop. I bought it and unfortunately I got the demo in the case. Not a big deal until I got it under better light. The thumb safety on mine had horrible bluing and was actually digging into the frame. I also had problems with it returning to battery. I called STI up and they told me to send it in. I paid S&H. They replaced my safety, refinished my Ranger and fixed the FTRB problem. Oddly enough, it now seems to be shooting very low, but it is reliable now. I now have an excuse to put some night sights on it and be good to go. This is my first 45 and I will love the gun once I get the POA fixed up. Oh yeah, if you get one, make sure you get the assy/disassy tool. Mine did not come with it. They sent one when the repairs were completed. I'm seriously considering having the Ranger II logo removed. That logo is just too big.

They are one of the best around. Ive had a Ranger and a Trojan and WANT more of them. They are great and you wont regret owning one. My Trojan, the Govt model of your Commander, grouped 1" or less @ 25 yds from a rest.
Get it.......you wont regret it.
Shoot well...............enjoy it and Ill just be jealous.
