Hi, all you AK owners out there. I have a question for you.

Is there a stock/fore-end set for the AK-47 type rifle that will fit both the Century SAR-1 and the Norinco MAK-90 versions? I've been asked to help a buddy with this, and I have no idea... I notice that K-VAR does NOT list Chinese AK's on their Web site, but I don't know if this is because their parts don't fit those guns, or they just haven't bothered to list it. This is disappointing, because their OD green furniture would be great, if it would fit.

Can anyone help with advice, please?

I got the one that said MAK-90 Stamped receiver, and it fits my SAR-1 if that helps

Who made that stock set, yzguy? Was it a K-VAR? I don't see it listed on their Web site (at least not listed for the MAK-90 - they do list stock sets for "all stamped receivers" or "all milled receivers", but don't state whether they stamp an AK model designation on their stock sets).

From what I've heard with just some slight adjustments the Kvar stocks will fit on Chinese guns. Make sure your buddy has a straight cut receiver on his gun and not an angled one however. Since the MAK stock covers the rear edge of the receiver alot of people don't even know... Choate makes a Dragunov-style setup that works on MAKs, I believe it even works on the angle cut ones as it also overlaps the rear of the receiver like the original MAK wood.

MAKowner hit the nail on the head. The big factor is whether the MAK has a straight back on the receiver or an angle cut. If it is straight, the KVAR stocks will work fine. It might take a little filing but they will work. If you have an angle cut MAK, Ironwood makes stock sets that will fit but the same set will not work on a straight backed SAR.
