Ok, I'm stepping up my game this year to actually get in the mix of things near the top at the end of the day.

I upgraded my rifle from a Savage Axis .308 to a Rem 700 ADL SPS-V in .308.

Upgraded my scope from a Truglo 8-32x44 (don't laugh too much, was avg 9 points with it) to a Weaver 8-32x50 German 4 reticle.

Upgraded bipod from a cheapo Caldwell to a Sinclair F-Class bipod.

Lightened trigger on rem 700.

Now I'd like to upgrade the stock. I've been looking at Choate Tactical and Varmint stock. I'm really leaning towards the tactical because I like the way the stock looks better.

Are there any others to consider within say a price range of $200-$300/400?

If you planning on stay with this you may want to go ahead and buy a manner stock . Last stock you will ever need. They you can change barrels on that remmy action down the road.

Or for the cost wise shooter buy a tactical stock from boyd's add bedding blocks and float the receiver and first 3" of barrel and be dollars ahead,

My heavy hunter boyd's is 17 years old and bedded and blocked . Been rained on more times than I care to guess and still free floating on my old custom.

I chose the B&C Medalist "style 2" (formerly listed as the A2) Through Stocky's.

Briefly thought about buying the fully adjustable "Style/A- 5" version but decided that for me, my skills etc at this time did/do not justify the almost doubling in price.

when the time comes that my actual skill level justifies it I'll likely upgrade to a Manners or McMillan. But for now I'll dumping any available funds into ammo (reloading components) and saving for upgraded glass
