Anyone else that has a Stoeger Cougar 8000 still like it. I have been very please with mine. I have the 9mm w/ two 15 rnd mags. It shoots accurately, is reliable, and feels good in my hand. I have shot 1000+ rounds through it easily with only a handful of failure to feeds, but those were with aftermarket mags, not the Beretta mags. For the @340.00 + tax I paid for it, I would say it was a great buy. I would be curious to hear others opinions of thiers and if they are as satisfied.

Here is mine with Hogue Rosewood Checkered grips. I also added a metal recoil spring guide from David Olhasso.

Say, those are sharp lookin' grips. What did you pay for that extra? I have an 8000 as well. Was too good a deal to pass up.

Most days, it's what I carry. I've had mine for six months or so, and it has never had a problem. I used to carry a M&P, but this quickly took over. I guess I'm old school, plastic just doesn't do anything for me. It's either the Cougar, or a S&W K frame .357.

I passed the 1,000 round count a while back, and it has ate everything I've fed it. Shoots real good, too. I wouldn't say it's more accurate than the wheel gun, but it's close. I think it's a darned good buy for $340. That's what I paid, too. I was looking for a .40 but couldn't find one. This one will do, though.

I guess great minds think alike. I added wood grips to mine, too. They aren't checkered, though.

I actually got them at Hogue's auction site. I paid like $16.00 as factory seconds, but I cannot see anyting wrong with them. Great deal though. I just got lucky the day I checked the site and they were there. I have not seen any factory seconds grips for the 8000 since, and I have checked many times just to see what may be out there. I think a regular set from Hogue's site would be about $40 +/-

Check that. They would be about $65.00 for checkered. I guess I got a better deal than I thought.

Nice gun. Nice pic. The gun could do without a "manual" stamped into the slide, though... oh, well, what can you do nowadays?

BTW Welcome to THR!

I have had my Cougar 8000 in 9mm for about 10 months. I love it and carry it every day in a Crossbreed Super Tuck. About 800 rounds with out any FTF or FTE problems with most major brands and types of ammo, it runs 100% everytime.
