Stoeger Cougar - What's Your Opinion?

I don't have a Cougar yet, but my understanding is that the Beretta Cougar magazines will work in the Stoeger.

Yes, they will, they're the same gun except for roll markings and country of origin. I checked the Beretta site today and they're still selling factory new mags for $19.95.

If I missed this mention I am sorry but an interesting fact about the cougar.... If you like the berreta 92, chances are you will like the cougar. Close your eyes and you can't tell which one your holding. The Cougars twisting barrel does set them apart when firing as well as the extra loudness expected from a shorter barrel ( barrel is shorter than the grip) but my fondness for the 92 and the shorter barrel was a perfect combo for my ideal Carry weapon. I do have the newer stoeger cougar 8000 FT (9mm fully tactical (( picante rail)). Now I have the ability to send 15 rounds down range with the optional flashlight/ laser sight. I have to admit once my light/laser is mounted it feels great! I assume due to the lighter shorter barrel. I pray they make a guide rod laser soon, that would be awesome as well. I'm glad you like your gun, but if you have something to discuss on the Cougar, you may want to start a new thread.
