looking for information on a Derringer my cousin picked up the other day. This is a Stoeger Arms 22 LR two shot derringer. It appears to have pearl looking grips and a black frame. It is a over under barrel configuration and they open to the top to load. It has a serial number on it of 23193. It has MADE IN GERMANY on the right side of the barrels and on the left bottom barrel states modeLL 1958. This is a single trigger that appears to have one long firing pin which appears that it would shoot both barrels when fired. Any info such as age and value would be apprciated.

This is from the catalog page of the Stoeger Shooters Bible No. 52 1961 GIANT EDITION.

Just happens to be the one I had handy. I know my dad has quite a few of these. I just don't have room for them.

Cheers,

ts

It is a typical copy of the Remington Double Derringer, it has a rotating firing pin that fires one barrel at a time or one barrel with each pull of the trigger, not both barrels at once. These were made by several German firms ( including Rohm ) and imported under a dozen different names and by a number of different retailers in the late 1950s until the late 1960's. The
quality of these guns vary from dismal to fairly well made. Average value will run from 25 to a hundred depending on the quality and condition. The 22 caliber derringers will have less value that those in 38 Special.
