Stoeger Double Defense - Junk

I just brought my brand knew Stoeger Double Defense to the range for the first time and the first few tries I didn't get a bang because of a light primer strike. Then all of a sudden when the gun did fire, both barrels went off at the same time. Note that this is a single trigger gun. Great self defense gun.

Even if I get this fixed I've lost some confidence in this gun as a home defense tool. I hope I don't have to pay to ship this to get if fixed.

Is this a known issue or am I the unlucky one?

i've heard of the light primer stikes on the Stoeger coach guns, although i've never had the problem happen to me. I dont blame you, i wouldnt have any confidence in it either if my life depended on it!

Worked with two new Stoeger coachguns a couple weeks back, one single trigger & one double trigger.
No problems of any sort.

As you can see, the issues seem to be "hit or miss". Not exactly what you want to rely on in a HD scenario (or even a target game one for that matter). If you check various threads on here and other forums, you will see the same pattern regarding Stoeger and other brands of similar pricing - unknown possible quality...................

I had a stoeger uplander sidebyside had the same problem first barrell would not fire break it open and then it would fire the second time took it to gun smiths and they could find nothing wrong got rid of it piece of junk.
