I am in the market for a new semi in my last post I was interested in a 10ga but more I thought I was alot more limited with the 10ga then a 12ga I like a 12ga for every from squirrels to turkey to rabbit to anything I like the versatility of the 12ga and I like a 3.5 for turkey and geese. I have shoulder the versa max sportsman and it felt great point get love the double bead sights the recoil pad felt good I haven't made a decision I want to get people opinion. I have not been able to find a stoeger yet I will before I make a decision I like the inertia drive in the stoeger I heard mostly good reviews on the stoeger the local bass pro and gander mtn has said their great guns and several different gun shops only bad I heard is the stoeger don't like the light loads about the lights loads but the light I shoot is 1 1/8 in lead I like heavy loads for steel with I have to use for everything in a couple places I hunt. I am just looking for advice at the moment I cant get anything for a while am
nd I am not going to rush into anything I want to shoulder several more. I wish I could afford a benelli but I cant go that much or wouldnt I but I would love a sbe1 im not a high volume shoot I squirrel hunt maybe a couple times a month during the season but that not all year so im not worry about shooting a lot. I am only looking at new ones and I have not completely ruled out a pump yet thanks

The Remington will have softer recoil and reports are that it cycles better with more loads. Some Stoegers have issues, but if you get a good one you will probably like it. Both are good guns. The Stoegers should be cheaper by a couple hundred dollars. Both systems work well. You should see which one fits you best and mounts best. I prefer gas actions for heavy loads and the Versa Max had a recoil reduction system. It doesn't matter to some guys. Unless you get a lemon you will get your monies worth with either gun.

A Super Black Eagle 1 was the worst recoiling gun I have EVER shot, and that includes a lightened 10 gauge BPS. The two piece stocks on the newer guns are not for nothing. Benellis are good guns, but don't believe the hype; there's nothing magical about them. A Franchi Affinity or Intensity uses the same action, looks like a gun, and is a whole lot cheaper.
I prefer Remingtons, and the VersaMax feels like a Remington. If you like that feel too, you should like it. I have heard of issues with the 3-1/2" Stoegers having issues with less than heavy loads, but the one guy I know with one likes his.

I had a shock today I took my charles daly apart just for the heck of it and I found the problem and I fix it cycles fine but I lose my o ring and it dont want to cycle light loads im going to order a set of o ring before long and shoot it and after turkey season nexted spring I might sell it
