Whats everyone's opinion on stoeger shotguns?.Good quality, any problems?.
I've been wanting a double shotgun for a very long time now,but haven't ever seen any new ones forsale.I remembered that Dicks sporting goods ran a sale on there O/U 's last year and I went to there site to check em' out because I was going to settle on an O/U.So what do ya'll think, the MSRP is a decent price.

Haven't got it yet but I have a Coach Gun on order. This was based on recommendations from shooter's who's opinion I value.

I bought my Dad one for Christmas 2 years ago. It is a coach gun with the brushed or satin nickel finish. He really likes it. I think I paid $329 NIB.

I have a Condor I Over/ Under that was my first firearm. I love that gun, and even though I overpaid a bit, it was still worth every penny. No bells or whistles, just a good, solid shotgun.

I don't own a Stoeger, but I've checked them out, talked to owners, and read many posts on them. To me they seem rather crude and as a Baikal owner that's saying something. But they seem to hold up fairly well and among those who use them few complaints. But most people I know of only use them for seasonal hunting and no one I know uses a Stoeger for heavy duty clays shooting. So there you go - it pretty much depends IMO on how you intend to use the gun. For modest use it's probably a reasonable choice, a relatively small investment on a decent gun you won't be upset over if it gets dinged being dragged thru the swamps. On the other hand if you plan on doing a lot of shooting every week you'd probably be happier with something else.

I shoot trap league with a bunch of guys who have Condors.

They work well, no problems with any of them. Shoot well, too. Feel a lot like a Citori of the same size. You decide if that's a good thing or not.:)

The ones I've seem look pretty decent, too. Maybe they're Supremes.

I'm pondering a SxS for upland hunting. Maybe they'll go on sale soon...

"Upland" may suggest idyllic stolls through the fields on a fall morning, but here it's more like climbing through cactus-covered granite mountains. I don't want a pretty gun out there.:)

I have a .410 Condor and love it. The bbls. are well regulated, and the gun is well built. I owned a coach gun for a few years, and never had a lick of trouble with it. My friend has an older Condor 12ga with fixed chokes (iirc), and hunts with it every year and wouldn't part with it.
