Im thinking about getting a stoeger uplander SxS in 28 gauge. Would use it for busting clays (informal) and maybe some occasional bird hunts. The price is right at around $300-350, but are they a decent quality gun? Any opinions?

Ive heard some of the older ones can have firing pin issues, has this been resolved with the newer guns?

Thanks for the help!

I have a Stoeger Condor 410 and am very pleased at the value for the money. Absolutely no problems in hundreds of reloads.
I do wish that they made the Condor in 28 Ga, I would grab one in a heart beat.

I also hope you're going to use your $$$ savings over buying a high quality gun to get some reloading equipment........28 shells where I live are $11/box, while I can reload them for less than $3/box

Personally, I would rather buy a good semi auto than a cheap O/U or SxS.......dollar for dollar, the quality will be higher....JMO, YMMV

I dont reload, but im not really a high volume shooter. So im not too worried about the price of shells.

This will just be a knock around gun hence why I dont want to spend a whole lot on it. I figure the stoeger would make a good low cost "feeler" to see if I really get into shotgunning or not.
