Stoger condor quality report

I have one in 20 gauge. Works well with about 2500 rounds through it. Certainly nothing fancy but it works and has a nice balance. Long term I would be surprised if it keeps going without some problem, such as firing pin etc. For a field gun, it would probably be around for a lot of years. High volume use, who knows.

My brother has had one for about 7-8 years. It has been a good gun for him. He shoots trap and skeet with it and seems to like it. I have shot it and I was impressed with it for the money. I think he paid about $300 for it and it is a nice gun.

Don't know about long term reliability but so far it is not getting loose or anything. I would say buy it if you can get it for a good price and you want a O/U. I am not a fan of doubles so I am happy with my pumps and autos.

I like working class doubles like the condor, the spartans, and such. I've heard good about condor and my new spartan has pleased me. They're sorta not real pretty except in how they perform. They're not ostentatious, put it that way, but you gotta give up something for the money. If I had a little more money to spend, I'd like a Red Label, but I doubt it'd shoot any better than the Condor, frankly. I wouldn't worry a lot about firing pins and such, either. I've an old cheap double, a Spanish built Sarasqueta, that I bought back in 71 that has not had to be smithed in all these years, and it's still tight and still functions, though it's pretty much retired to my gun cabinet. Cheap guns are not necessarily junk, just that they aren't real pretty, well fitted or adorned.

My father in law has had one for several years. Not really any high volume through it yet. I've shot a few boxes out of it over a dove field. Handles and points nice. Nice balance. Kinda sticky action at first till it gets broke in good. Overall he's been pleased. I've been kinda looking around on the used market for one myself.
