Does anybody lube their store bought cast bullets? I'm setting up to load for 9mm. I've bought 500 FMJs to practice on, but I want to switch to cast when those are gone. I lube my Laser Cast bullets with Lee Liquid Alox for my 30-30 to minimize leading, but those are for low power loads and they are going to lead a little as they are too hard. I also lube for my 357 and 44 mag lever guns. No problem with them. Just not sure if you need to lube for the pistol rounds. A lot of times that red or blue wax is gone on several bullets. Any suggestions?

My "internet" bought cast bullets always come pre lubed.

Why buy cast bullets if they are not, even if they are at your local store?

I never lubed store bought cast bullets. I simply loaded and shot them. If you have some where the red/ blue lube has worn off, I would recommend using the LLA.

I use many Laser Cast bullets in four different calibers and all come lubed and shoot beautifully without leading in all my pistols. I haven't the faintest idea why you would want to "relube" purchased lead bullets. Would you please be a little more specific?

Take the 357 bullets for example. On some of them, the lube ring has fell off, missing sections or just plain loose. Once again, these bullets are hard. I would get minimum leading in my lever gun with midrange loads. Streaks through out the barrel. Once lubed with Alox, the leading all but stopped. I plan on getting cast bullets from someplace like Missouri Bullet Company as the Laser Cast are just a little too hard for my slower velocities. I "hear" their bullets are a little softer. I just wasn't sure if people lubed their cast bullets they bought online.
