Stories of Self Defense Needed

Hey guys, I'm having an argument about gun control with a friend. he doesn't beleive that guns can be used in self defense. He's never heard stories of it (of course not). Please, regale this thread with stories, so I can refer him to it.

Then why do the police carry then? To shoot BG's in the back? To balance the billy club and cuffs on the other side of the belt? Probably just to intimidate the BG's when they say "Stop! or I'll shoot! Put 'em up! You're under arrest!"

I'm serious when I ask this: Does your friend have an honest understanding of what a firearm is and what it does?

Do this: Ask him if he'd ever want one pointed at him.

He will probably answer in the negative, and when he does, ask him why not.

Then ask him why he thinks that a criminal would feel any different about having a firearm pointed at them.
