I have a gun safe and also room in the house to store my handguns, but I'm not 100% sure of the best way to store stainless and nickel plated guns. I live in a high humidity (down south) area, so I'm concerned about that issue-I have the guns currently in the safe which is in my garage ,with the moisture cannisters in place, and they seem to be doing the job, but is this all I need to do? Do I need to do anything to the guns themselves? Should I move the safe indoors? I've been told to keep a thin coating of gun oil on my blued guns, but how about nickel and stainless? Any help is appreciated.

De-humidifier plus dessicant.

Wax any gun you don't plan to shoot with Rig Gun Grease. It will preserve it. My friend in San Francisco removed the blue off of his 10/22. He then applied three coats of Rig, buffing it each time before applying the next layer. Several years later, the fog air did not rust the 10/22 at all. That convinced me.

If you want museum quality wax, get Renaissance Wax from WoodCraft stores. It's PH neutral.

Ditto on the RIG gun grease.
I keep a 8inch square piece of sheepskin well impregnated with RIG ,stored in a coffee can and handily wipe down each weapon after handling.
Been using RIG for years.
