I am not happy with my fat fingers and the curve in my BHP trigger. The gun is a newer model a Mark 3, I believe. I would like to take the curve out of the trigger (bend it straight down) and trim off if necessary any that might hit the trigger guard. This is strictly a range gun. Has anyone tried this, if it's a MIM part can it be bent hot or cold?? Thanks in advance. Nick

If it were my project I would find some stock, cut a new trigger from that stock, then cut the old trigger off. Find someone who is really good at welding to weld that new blade on.
The up side here is you'll get to place that trigger in the location that matches your index finger, so strip your frame and find that exact reach location.

Slope--I had'nt thought about doing it that way but that brings up the question if it is MIM can you weld to it??

I would put the top of the trigger in a vise with copper on the pads to absorb heat , the heat and bend the trigger. Welding just adds another problem.

Unless you want to do something else with the shape, I will second Mete. Bending the original will be easier than welding on a piece.

Mete or Jim--Thats what I had in mind originally. My concern is that I don't know if the part is MIM and if it is MIM is that bendable? I have a torch and Brownells heat stop paste. It would be about a $50. oops if it's not. Nick

I think you wont get any real change in the feel if you bend it. The curve at the top will probably still be there, and if you straighten the whole trigger the reach will become quite a bit. Didnt Tanfoglio have an Action Shooting version of the CZ-75 set up like this in the mid-90's?

Ive seen cast parts welded before, and I dont feel MIM makes it impossible. The skill of the welder is the most imprtant thing. A friend of mine who was a SAAB mechanic did some amazing welds putting basepads back on some MagPack magazines for me back in the day, and those welds had a bead about 3/32nd of an inch when he was finished. If youre still leery, have the trigger blade silver soldered on.

Ive considered the same thing with my two Ruger Bisleys, to get the reach I would prefer. That and the Ruger triggers look kinda goofy being so far foreward in the trigger guard.

Slope--By straightening I mean the bottom portion which will in effect shorten the trigger reach. Instead of it curving forward the bottom portion would be bent back toward the grip similar to the CZ single action target trigger. I was told on another board that the trigger is a casting. I'm going to look into this a little further before I do anything. Nick
