Unless the memory of the last 8 years suddenly evaporates, voters are going to give us an anti 2nd amendment president in a couple of days, so how bout we get proactive? If we were to triple the number of FFLs just by everybody becoming a garage dealer, we would have more muscle and clout than sending checks to the NRA. We desperately need more FFLs anyway so let's combine NEED with the current motivation.

Jeez, it's isn't hard either. Just get a local business license to operate out of your home, go HERE to atf's page where they will send you the forms and fingerprint cards for free, and send it all in with your check. Done and done. Wait a few months and boom, you're now on the inside in a small way, and you have just beat the inevitable fee increase (remember when klinton did that).

I think this is a no brainer. Action always beats whining, and action beats sending a check to some political group when the president is an anti. If we're too scared to stick our necks out then we're ripe for the picking.

There's somethig to be said for flying under the radar.

You get an FFL and now the ATF knows who you are. They can come and search, er, I mean inspect your home whenever they want. And when Mr obama jo biden decides he wants to crack down on the gun industry, guess who he's gonna send the JBTs after first. That's right, the easiest ones to find, the ones he aleady knows about.

No thanks. I'll just buy what I want while I can get it, keep buying ammo and components and keep keeping a low profile. Security through obscurity isn't a bad idea.

In order to possess an FFL, the BATFE requires that you have a brick and mortar storefront operation.

Also, the cost of an FFL was raised in the 1990's to make it prohibitively expensive for the average person not in the business of buying and selling guns.
