Stray Bullet Hits Maid of Honor

Hey Mech In that cheesy example you used did the shotgun injure a person or is a truck worth the same as a human to you.:barf: Would you feel the same if it was someone you cared about. I bet you'll say yes. WOW i'm psychic.

Mythbusters showed that a bullet fired *straight* up will return to earth at its terminal velocity, having stabilized in a sideways attitude, and will not likely be lethal, though it'll still do some damage.
On the other hand, a bullet launched at an angle will still retain much of its launch speed, and will still be spin-stabilized in its most aerodynamic attitude, retaining whatever lethality that bullet was designed to possess at that speed.

Bullets may not still be spin stabilized over a long flight. First, the spin may not last for the entire flight. Second, if the spin doesn't drop within the window of the parameters need for the corresponding drop in velocity, you have a spin and velocity out of sync and the slug destabilizes, tumbles, and quickly becomes ineffective.

A .308 might have something like 900 fps velocity after a mile (3000 fps muzzle), but remaining stable at that range AFTER penetrating, sorry, SMASHING through a roof seems unlikely. They didn't say they were in a tent, so the roof should have been hard, not fabric.

After watching the video, I was thinking. That Maid of Honor was rather attractive. :)

And I'm sure at the reception, some guy was trying to make his move.
And then she gets carted away because a random bullet falls out of the sky and hits her.

How about that poor guy's bad luck? :D
