I have the opportunity to attend the stressfire 2-day course next month. My wife even offered to let me splurge for a hotel if her and her mom can come down with me and do some biking on nearby trails. I am wondering if anyone has taken this course and would be willing to offer some insight as to if the class would be worth the time and 2,000 rounds of ammo. Thanks in advance.

First I don't beleive that you need 2000 rounds of ammo for the two day class. Second to answer to is it worth it? Depends on your skill level and what you expect from the class. If it were me, any time I can spend time at the shooting range, the family is fine with it, and I might learn something. How could I lose!

The amount recommended is 500 rounds. If you think you're going to want to do the qualification course one or two times more to improve your score, then bring another 100 to 200 rounds.

If it's going to be hot, bring lots of water, and that drying powder that you put on your hands.

And, the voice of humiliated experience speaking here: make sure your gun is 100% functional.

The course I am looking at recommends 2,000 rounds. A guy who took it told me he shot a little over 1,600 when he took it. I understand some websites on the course say 500 rounds, but I confirmed the 2,000 number.
