Went shooting today and everyone there was a reloader :D and I wasn't able to scrounge any brass. On the bright side I did get to finally shoot some reloads that I worked up for my 45acp and found the right recipie. 4.7g of HP38 with a 230g FMJ. Groupings were excellent. My 243 loads are good - groupings were a bit bigger than what I wanted at 100 yards - so I will reload some more and start again at 25 yards and move out.

One day I might purchase a Lee Handloader and reload at the range.

Not being a benchrest shooter, I see no value in loading at the range. To me, its simpler to load an extra box of ammo with different powder charges at home and just throw that into the range bag. Less stuff to forget or lose that way.

Some days you don't get any brass, and some days you get so much you spend all your time picking up brass! It's all good.

Wasn't that good for me today. Usually I can get 2 gallons of brass in an hour. After an hour of picking up .22mags and berdan junk, I had scarcely half a gallon. The temp up in the 90's locally means less shooters. It will be like that until we get towards hunting season.

You cant win them all. SO sometimes you only leave with your own brass. Just says you have to go out and do some more shooting

Oh but it's still worth going. If the .40 caliber crowd shoots on Tuesday, go Tuesday evening. Timing is rewarding.

I had a great day Thursday. :D

About 4 or 5 .223 brass and a couple .45's today. :(

It's all good though.

I went yesterday. Had a great day. The 30.06 Hornady interlocks shot a 1" group at 100 yards. Only one other guy on the line, was shooting a 30.06 as well. I got all his brass, 3 boxes of it (60), the same REM brass I have for my loads. After that I wandered down to the pistol range with my 45ACP. Got all my own brass back and a hundred (+) 45 long colt along with about 300 - 357 mag. I don't shoot .357 but I have a buddy who does and trades the 45 for the 357 he collects when he goes. It was a good day.....
