a friend of mine called me in today from the street to help him hold his tc bp inline rifle down while he tried to take out the nipple (i think that's what the thing is you put the the cap on)..... i held on to her and he twisted the wrench to remove it from the breech and it was not comin out.... i don't know much about bp guns as i've never had one but the thing is really stuck.... my suggestion was to put in some solvent and let it soak over night.... he poured some hoppes down the muzzle and stood the barrel in a corner till tomorrow..... any other ideas just in case things are still stuck tomorrow.....

LIFE IS SHORT.....

Dump the Hoppes

good stuff , but not for BP .
Use some Kroil , let sit like you described , heat her up with a torch ( no , don't melt the gun :banghead: ) a little , use a 1/4" drive socket cut to fit the nipple with a 1/4" rachet wrench .
If that don't work , get a canoe , youll have a nice lookin Oar . :D
Speaking of Nipples , wait a minute , I got sidetracked . :D
Umm , don't let your nipples stay on your guns after shooting , they need to be pulled and cleaned each time you shoot and bring her home . A littel oil or grease on the threades next time is all you need . Very little oil or grease , or I hear some folks use Anti-Seize too . Good luck , and always treat your nipples good .

Years ago as a navy aircraft engine mechanic I found out you can use "Oil of Wintergreen" to get anything stuck loose. I still use it today.

thanks for the great info guys......... i'll pass along the advice my friend tomorrow...... i think we about ruined his tc nipple wrench today....... i wonder what size socket it would take........... like i said i have never shot black powder weapons but i have been around a lot of guys that do......

LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO HAVE STUCK NIPPLES................
