Ah to be young and dumb again. Like some other posters I can appreciate the passion, and since I live not too far from UW I know of the crime there.

I say "dumb" because, hey who called the media? Q13 isn't smart enough to find these guys on their own. Someone had to pick up a phone and say "look at us!" And I agree, if they do plug someone the video will serve to hang them in court.

But to those who say "oh, oh, bad idea!", you missed the part where punks smashed glass, violated his home environment and assaulted him and his woman. When anyone has had that happen to them and it occurs to them that the police are always retroactive support (when seconds count the police are only minutes away) they finally realize that your personal safety is your job. CPL - check. Training not only in firearms but unarmed combat - check. Live life with vigilance (not vigilantism) - check. Mouth shut when it comes to the self serving press - check.

Buncha wannabe thugs themselves. You can't go looking for it. If it finds you, be ready and react. But to go fishing for it is asking for bad things to happen.

Possession or use of firearms, explosives, dangerous chemicals or other dangerous weapons or instrumentalities on university premises, except for authorized university purposes, unless prior written approval has been obtained from the university chief of police, or any other person designated by the president of the university (see WAC 478-124-020 (2)(e)) (legal defense sprays are not covered by this section);

This makes it seem like is a law against carrying on campus. Though unless I misread this section you may be able to get around it if you can convince the chief of campus police to give permission to carry on campus.

They're probably just trying to be heroes. They want to make a difference and gain notoriety by doing so. But when that is the motive, even if you save someone from danger, you're no hero IMO.

Sounded more like they had been attacked and were tired & angry about being victims. Altho I'm not justifying them making this a public issue the way that they did (if they did)

And I used to carry pepper spray in my hand when I walked to my car after night school classes there.
