Not sure if this is worth posting, but here goes...

Last night I was looking at the press thinking I need to load some 10mm (really, anything after a long 6 month hiatus), and it occurred to me I really don't care for the primer catch bin. So I looked around, and before I knew it I had a simple solution. Ran a couple, seems to work. Now it just needs some run time to see if it will hold up.

There is a bit more time into it than I'd like to admit. Probably 15 min conceiving and executing the idea, and 15-20 min looking for the right size object to mark the funnel for cutting. Turns out an old water bottle in a bin in the garage was just right. The 30-06 case for marking the exit hole in the bottom of the bottle was right at hand. Kind of got lucky, and everything just worked out right off the bat.

The white bottle is a vitamin bottle my wife was tossing out. I grabbed a couple to use for holding misc items on the bench, and had one sitting there looking forlorn and useless. Since it looked to be about the right size...

The funnel is from a very cheap $1 store type set. The small one wasn't being used for anything, so now it has a job to do funneling primers.

The tubing was the expensive part - not that I had to go buy it - just had a left over piece from something, so now it has a place to be.

Not sure about the actual cost - everything was 'off the shelf' - maybe a $1 in parts, if I had to go buy them for this purpose.

I think I could easily do another in ~5 minutes.

Cutout to hang on the press. Just so happens that the funnel covers up enough of the bottom that there is no real escape path that way. Goes on and off pretty easy, but stays put.

Might have to beef it up a little with an over-wrap if usage starts to wear on it.

Did you make this because some of the primers don't drop into the the standard holder and fall to the floor? That happens to mine occasionally, and I can see from you pictures your device goes up and over the "chute" so that primers have to drop in the bottle.

One question tho: why the tube? couldn't you just empty the bottle once in awhile? I know how heavy the primers get so perhaps it would cause the bottle to sag, so you tube eliminates that.

Definitely gonna be looking for some bottles of my own to try.

Thanks for the great idea, and pictures.

Yeah. Its a nuisance. Like you said - not often, but if a real one falls to the floor, then I'm handling used primers more than I'd like.

To avoid handling them and the primer dust. They'll just collect in a clear 2L jug that I can cap when full.
