My father recently picked up a Savage 12FV in .204 Ruger, blued with a heavy barrel, accutriger and black synthetic stock. Its a nice rifle, picked up at a steal of a price, but neither he or I really has a desire to own a .204 (yet he couldn't pass this deal up).

We can make this rifle a .223 simply by switching barrels, right? What about the same action with a .260 or .308 barrel? If so, where could we source a barrel other than EABCO?

I tried searching THR but the search page kept returning blank in my browser...

Yes

You'll need a barrel of course as well as a new .473 bolt head and some mag tinkering

also don't forget that a used savage heavy barrel will sell used for between $100 to $200 depending on model and condition

Thanks!

I called Savage's parts department, and they said they don't sell barrels...guess aftermarket it is!
