Looking at Kel-tec's site, theyre releasing a new rifle soonish that is the SU-16 with a folding stock (and can fire from the folded postion). However, the OAL is 25 inches. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't there some magic number somewhere that says a rifle has to be a minimum of 26" OAL?

Minimum OAL is determined with the stock extended (except perhaps for one or two states with a law that affects that, can't recall specifics, as far as federal stuff is concerned it's with the stock extended)...

Very interesting. Might be a cool toy but @ MSRP of $840 I wonder how popular it will be in a no-AWB world where it will soon be possible to have many more options with the AR.

I like Kel-Tec as a Co. but sometimes I wonder if they didn't hire away the Hi-Point team tasked with making good looks part of the Carbine's final design package.

I thought it looked pretty good, would make a nice bike gun. Maybe a flash hid* COUGH COUGH* er... Compensator would make it more than 26"

You are forgetting that there are at least four states that have thier own AWB, and some like CA that ban semi-autos with pistol grips.

My SU-16B arrived at my dealer, going to pay for it this week and will pick it up in a couple weeks.

They are CA approved and are shorter, lighter and have better sights than the stock SU-16.

Saw the 16B at our local gun show. sights looks liek a big improvement over the old plastic ones.
