As noted above, Robert Silvers created and perfected (and patented) the photomosaic technique. He is also a fan of Class III and .50BMG guns, makes nifty high-quality shooting videos, and hangs out at http://www.subguns.com
FWIW, he has been asked about doing a gun mosaic. Lacking a paying client requesting such, he has declined to do so - guns are his hobby, and photomosaics are his work, and he's not inclined to blur the two.
