I’m shooting in a weekly pistol league, using standard IDPA targets at various ranges in limited time periods. I used two different 1911s, one in .45 and one in 9mm and did well, but my new XD Mod.2 Tactical 5” 9mm is the best.

Admittedly, I had to install a Powder River trigger kit to get the most out of the gun, but now it shoots very well. I find that I prefer the feel of the XD trigger over my 1911s. For some reason, I get a better “surprise break” with a smooth, sliding feel and it’s easier to prep the trigger as I align the sights.

My load is the Everglades 124 gr FMJ over 5.0 gr of Power Pistol – a nice, 1,000 fps load.

No it doesn't. I have fairly small hands and it fits me well.
To tell you the truth though, I don't find the Desert Eagle .44 mag any problem, either. Not convinced that the whole "fit the gun to your individual hand" business is all that important.

My experience is similar to yours. I bought the Mod 2 subcompact because I liked the feel of it in LGS and the size and capacity, but was floored that when I took it home I actually shot better than my PPQ and in line with my CZ's. I soon sold my family of PPQ's and now own several mod 2's. No regrets at all.

Maybe. I find it helps my accuracy as it gets me a proper trigger reach. I wear XL gloves and have thin hands. So small grips lead to a poor grip and allow the gun to move around. I also end up with too much finger on the trigger with a small grip.

Not saying the Mod 2 is too small. Haven't messed with one to know. Just curious.
