Just ran across this piece on CNN about a former LEO and current firearms instructor who used his weapon to blast open a window of a car containing children ... the car was in a river, upside down, after skidding off the road. The gentleman also used his knife to cut a seat belt trapping one of the children. Although the idea of shooting out a stuck window when the car is occupied is a little scary, I'm not second-guessing his actions, as I wasn't there. Does seem to beg a bit of discussion here, though.

Happy New Year, folks.

Im not gonna second guess the guy. Me, I would have tried to spyder it with a pommel, rock or something but then again, I wasnt there. Good on him.

Well it was supposedly a trained response, but yeah, I wondered, seeing how he apparently placed the muzzle at the window and fired, why didn't he just go further? I'm thinking, naturally, that the inertia of the weapon would break it, the main thing being that the glass is contacted with steel instrument. I'm going with training and time crisis dictated. He saved all 3 occupants. GOOD JOB!
