That brings up a good point. Do they have to be "rimfire" scopes? If so why? The one I had back when I was a kid was a cheap Bushnell 3x9 that worked well, but I don't know if it was a "rimfire" scope or not.
While looking at Academy sports tonight, I didn't see any that jumped out at me as 22 cal scopes for a 10/22.
A rimfire scope with a fixed objective will have the parrallax set at a closer distance. That is what you want if thebest accuracy at or about that distance is important.
I know I'm gonna get ripped for this, but I bought a NCStar 2732G tactical scope. It has a variable magnification from 2-7x, a 32mm objective, illuminated mil-dot/range finding crosshairs, 3" eye relief and a quick disconnect feature.
I've had this on my 10/22 marauder for about a month, and I've already put about 600+ rounds downfield and it's still holding zero. A nice feature is the QD (quick disconnect) picatinny mount. I've removed the scope off the rifle twice, and only had to re-zero the windage once (3 clicks left, or about 1" @ 50yds).
For the price (i got mine for $80), I think it's a very nice scope.
You need something with an adjustable objective dow to at least 25 yards. Most will go down to 10 for a good rimfire scope. Look at Mueller and Vortex they are both excellent middle of the road 22 scopes and won't break the bank. I have the Mueller APV on my 10/22 and love it. It will cost you around $130
