I've looked all over for a bi-pod for my Mini-14 to no avail. My mini-14 is a series 186- with the pencil thin barrel. Therefore I put an Accu-Strut on it, as well as put it in a Choate over molded stock. I'm aware of the adapter where you drill thru the stock and place a sling stud under the stock, however I've got a steel reinforced stock and I don't believe the stud would sit low enough in order to place a bi-pod on it. Further it already has a sling on it.

I thought someone made an attachment on the Accu-Strut that would work, I only want a 6"-9" Bi-pod. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about a purpose designed solution, but a less elegant method might be to get one of those GI M-16 clamp-style bipods. They'll work on about anything that doesn't have to heavy a barrel. They're also not the best bipods.

Naw I'm certain I saw a setup on a Mini-14 using the Accu-Strut, sure do wish I could get a make on that gizmo, a little 6"-9" bi-pod would be ideal for shooting in the prone position using a 20 round magazine. A buddy of mine has the clip on for his SKS and it is useless.

Not really, will that fit on an over-molded Choate Stock, using an Accu-strut. If it will You bet I'll buy it. I just took my Mini-14 out and I saw where that device attaches to the gas block, I don't see how that would fit without taking the Accu-Strut off . Too bad ya don't have something that would attach to that strut.

Just found a Harris Bi-Pod Universal Adapter that will fit barrels .550-.812, on another site, so I ordered it as the diameter on the strut is .640. Should fit and it has the stud that will attach to the bi-pod. Not too shabby, in fact I let everyone know once it gets here how well it works.

Below are the photo's of my mini-14 Series 186 that I mounted a Bi-Pod on. As soon as I get it to the range I'll show ya a range test on it.

Incidentally I only have the cheap BSA Red Dot, and sling on the arm, but they seem to be holding up fairly well. If I get any accuracy out of this set-up I'll probably mount my XTS-135 Burris on of it, and get a decent sling. Right now it's a just a fun gun to plink with. Note the Bi-Pod is a $30.00 Winchester, so like I said it's just a plinker, but a lot of fun.

Took the mini out this morning, however forgot my reading glasses, so I couldn't figure out which direction to turn the dials to dial it in. Knew it was shooting high, and off to the left, at 100 yards. Unfortunately some idiot/s messed up the range so my blood pressure was up quite a bit if ya know what I mean. I wasn't even hitting the target holder a 100 yards, 3'wideX4' long backing. Moved up to 25 yards, off hand, and noticed 3 rounds in the upper left corner. Any way I'll have to give it a try some other day.

The mini-14 was shooting like it did, just before I put the strut on it, with large groups. No sense taking pictures of it as the groups were enormous at 100 yards.

I removed the Harris bi-pod attachment from the strut none the less, and then removed the sling swivel from just below the gas block. I then placed the Winchester bi-pod on that swivel hole. It did fit fairly secure, with about 1/16" between the base and the strut.

Note I had to place the bi-pod back a$$wards to prevent the bi-pod from touching the strut. As soon as I get out shooting again I'll give a range report.
