It looks fairly promising for making a grip out of similar to the Hogue slip-on Handall and Handall Jr., but a more personalized fit.
Another product, that I can't find, came out a while ago that was rubbery but it didn't stick. You heated it up in hot water and molded it.
It was kind of hard to work with but it did come off easy. This stuff seems to be easier to get a good shape with.
Probably a lot more uses in firearms than just a grip too for this Sugru stuff. Something makes me think that using it for a firearm grip isn't
on the list of what they planned it would be used for. Although it does come in a black only sampling.

It works pretty well.

I'm working on getting a more stable grip on my S&W M&P9...the Med is too small and the LG just a bit bulky. I also salvaged the frame of an old pair of Oakley M-frames

The hard part is figuring out how much to mix and being patient enough to wait for it to set up before adding texture...otherwise it distorts. I first heard about it when an Olympic Fencer used it for the grip on his foil

Great stuff, but take the expiration date seriously.
I bought more than I initially needed, thinking I would find more uses for it. Now I am 6 months past the expiration date and it cannot be molded or shaped anymore.

Thanks for the heads up about the date. Guessing that was kept out not stored in the fridge as they say can extend the life 2-3 times?

Sugru is time sensitive, but "6 months past the expiration date" is pretty good at double the estimated useful life.

I just checked the package on my desk and noted that the date on it is 23 Feb 2013, so I better get on it (the packages in the frig are dated 19 May).

I wonder if that is why they went for selling it in bags of 10 to bags of 8

Stored in a ~65F basement, not the fridge. When I find something I like, I tend to stockpile. Works great for reloading components, not so well for Sugru.

This might be a good item for what I have needed over the years: an easy to apply "filler" for pistol grips that are not fit properly. Often, grips like those for a Browning Hi power, CZ75, or revolver with single screw mounting, are loose, and just need to be filled in at some of the contact points to tighten them up. A rubber-like compound would be fine, and absorbe shock from recoil to boot. Maybe this stuff will be the ticket.

I have to truly thank you for posting about this stuff! After researching it I bought some from amazon to reinforce my iPhone charger cord where the last two have broken. Bought a pack of three so I still have two to play with. Might try to make a better grip on my Lee Cutter trimming tool.

In reading the reviews about Sugru someone mentioned preferring "Instamorph" mold able thermoplastic. So I searched for that and added some to my amazon order to put me over the $25 free shipping threshold. That stuff is absolutely amazing!!! My mind is racing with the hundreds of applications for this stuff. Check it out and I can't thank you enough for this post that lead me down this path.
