Any advice on a side pack made by Tommysgunpack to carry you handgun. The pack hangs on your side and holds not only the pistol but extra ammo and anything else you can think of. Manny sizes and styles available I would like to know if anyone has used one. I was thinking about getting the sidekick modle for my Sig P239 to use during the summer.

I looked on their website, it's not terrible I suppose. I use a fannypack a lot, some criticize it, saying it has 'gun' written all over it, but I think it says 'gun' mostly to other gun people, so I don't care.

For the side pack, I think it looks odd, but that's subjective. With my fannypack, I can let a tshirt hang over it and it's invisible most of the time. (For places like my local theater that post non-binding 'no-gun' signs.) If there's a reason I WANT it on the side, such as, to bend over and tie my shoes, I can rotate it there and move it back when I'm done. I don't see any compelling reason to switch to a side pack.

I very much endorse the Orginal Tommys Gun Pack fannypack. I have carried my full size 1911 (+Commander + G19 + Smith 642)

Not to sure about the Sidepack, but if it is up the quality of the orginal it might be worth looking at.

I do like the fannypack, more of a cross-draw motion.

If the law mandated "all firearms must be concealed in a fanny pack." I would stop carrying.

I can't see a practical use for a fanny pack by anyone that is not a senior citizen or disabled. In either case I'll give you a pass. Otherwise get something like a Keltec p3at and put it in your pocket.

Gents, I requested information on Tommysgunpacks. Please, if you are unable to contribute anything that makes sence, don't reply. I know there
are some folks that are looking for diffrent ways to carry during warm weather. These are the people I am trying to reach in hopes that they have tried this product.

My comments are based upon having a Tommy's original fanny pack for 3.5 years. It is perfect in short and t shirt. It is perfect on the trail in the Jeep, I like it when riding the bike. It would not seem right in a suit or business dress.

I also use a Milt Sparks Summer Special II and a Galco "Jak" slide. I have picked up a Blackhawk Sepra holster.

Yes, I carry a 642 in a pocket holster or Simply Rugged OWB holster.

As to some comments, I could give a rats A** what someone thinks of how it looks. If that is a concern you have more self esteem issues than we can resolve here.

It works to carry a large frame auto in summer, that is what is important to me.

All in fun gentleman... all in fun. As Jack Handey once said: “It takes a big man to laugh at himself, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.”... or something like that. You get the picture.

Unfortunately we all must come to the conclusion that there is NOTHING easy, convenient or comfortable about carrying a concealed weapon. Finding new and exciting ways to hide a 2lb metal brick on your body is tiring at best. It is the price we pay to protect those that we love.
