One for Pappa & one for Mama.

I've been wanting a S&W1911PD of my own ever since my wife came home with the Commander sized Smithy a couple of months ago. She made the mistake of lettin' me borrow it. Then I discovered I could shoot her 1911 better than I could shoot my Glock.

Hmpf.

So... yesterday I went out to get me the same one for myself. Then I found out prices went UP ! I was about to sulk out of the shop when I spied the checkered grips of this fine pistol playin' peek-a-boo from under a newspaper on the counter. I moved the paper and pressed my nose to the glass like a kid in a candy store. There it was !

Some say they'll buy a certain gun if it "sings" to them. Well, I asked to see her and she just felt so natural. The trigger was nice & crisp, and nary a smudge or a scratch on her. The slide is so tight she ain't even broken in yet. Yep, she was singin' a sweet song to me. I just had to take her home.

We're goin out to get acquainted later. It's gonna be a good day.

Believe it or not...

She dang near ordered me to go get one of my own ! Seems I'd borrowed it once too often, seeing as it's her carry piece.

I know, I'm a lucky guy.
