Well I toook a friend to the rifle range this morning. She works part time with me at the indoor pistol range, but she has never shot a rifle before. So after months of missed trips we were finally able to get togather and do some shooting.
I took the M1A, 2 AR's and the PTR-91. She started off with the A2 Carbine and had all kinds of fun.
But I was shooting the PTR next to her. She likes the HK's, and is one hell of a shot with the rental MP-5 we have at the range. So she dove into the PTR. While she enjoyed it, she didn't really like the hard plastic butt plate on it. BTW: some of you may remember that I had ejection problems with the PTR when I first bought it. Well it turns out there was a burr on the extractor, so I popped it out ground the burr off and polished it to a mirror finish and she ejects beatifully now! It reallt throws those spent cases
Then she eyed up the M1A. Well after she got her hands on it I thought there was going to be a fight to get it back from her! She loved it! She sent 300 rounds down range with it and only stoped because I had only bought 500 rounds with me and we had ran out!
OH well atleast I had plenty of 223 ammo left for my AR. I went through about 500 rounds of Wolf 62gr in my Heavy barreled Bushy Carbine (no malfunctions in a total of 900 rounds between 2 AR's, I love Wolf!!)
And now to spend the rest of the afternoon cleaning guns!
