Sunshade fitment information for Air Rifle Scopes

I have a Tech Force 4-12x40 AO Rifle Scope, Illuminated Red/Green Duplex Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1" Tube, and I wanted a sunshade for it. I looked, but I could not find one on the air gun websites. Maybe I didn't look hard enough.
Anyway I took a chance with this 40mm sunshade, and it fit: Mueller Optics 40mm 3-Inch Sunshade - Black SS340

If you have the same air rifle scope, or have a similar 40mm scope, and looking for a sunshade this might work for you. At $10 it is worth the try. I can confirm that it fits the Tech Force 4-12x40 AO Rifle Scope, Illuminated Red/Green Duplex Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1" Tube.

I cut a 4" piece of my kid's black construction paper, rolled it into a tube, and scotch-taped it onto the scope bell.

Been there for years now.

Cool. Yeah for $9 and free shipping I didn't mind leaving the construction paper for crafts instead of a scope lens shade. I'll probably be using my air rifle a little more in places where scotch tape and fiber paper will not stand up to the hunt. Now if it were duct tape and poster board. Well I might have left the aluminum 3" extension back at Amazon.

It is a good use of what you have, and I am sure it works. You know just trying to pass on some information to others who may be looking for that piece to complete their setup, and not knowing which brand or model will fit the threads. Now they know, but yes, the construction paper and scotch tape should get you through just fine.
