I was just looking about the internet when I noticed that magsafe makes a 357 Sig load that is a 64grn bullet moving at 2150 fps! They also make a 357 magnum load that is a 70grn bullet at over 1800 fps out of a 4 inch revolver barrel. These loads come six in a box and are priced at around 15 dollars per box. I was wondering...are these loads safe? They sound like they would be extremely hard on a gun. I don't trust +P+ loads, but these loads sound crazy.

They work wonderfully in their intended role; to not overpenetrate, whether flesh or drywall.

There are not many applications or risk assessments where the levels of penetration of those rounds would be recommended.

Perhaps if your primary application is killing snakes and you want a load that would at least be marginally effective on humans (better than snake shot), or if you needed something for snakes in .357 Sig (there are no snake shot loads in bottleneck cartridges.)

The Magsafe load can be effective on snakes by aiming at the ground just in front of the snake because the ricochet fragments will impact the snake. Not as reliable as snake shot, of course, but the best you can do in .357 Sig. Also better than snake shot if you have to shoot a human attacker.
