I have a Winchester Super-X2 Practical Mark 1 - SX2, 22" barrel, sold for 3-gun competition I guess.
I like the gun; but one thing that burned me in a shotgun class was that it would only cycle birdshot (dove loads) from the shoulder. Off the shoulder, it would limp-wrist - slugs or buck fine no matter what (yes, one-hand shooting slugs was slightly annoying).
I take it this gun is optimized for buck/slugs in 3-gun?
Anyway, I notice that winchester sells other pistons as well. Which piston model came with the Practical? Which piston should I switch to to cycle lighter loads more reliably? Has anyone tried this?
Would the light load piston beat the gun up if used with buck/slugs? Or will the shock buffer protect it for a while?
I would like to take an upcoming defensive shotgun class; but all the off-shoulder shooting I'm sure would be present would make it unusable.
Thanks,
Battler
