Suppose this really works??

They suck, for lack of a better description.

If they were made out of 4140 or similar and properly rifled, they'd be a neat thing to have on hand. As is, the rifling wears out quickly and they're just cheaply made.

Rail is correct, the rifling wears out quickly and unevenly.

A past friend of mine bought one and within a box of .357 there was a "clang" inside the barrel.

Seems that the bullet's had eaten (for lack of a better word) the adaptor just enough to cause the bullet to fire downwards, and bounce out of the barrel.

If you want something like that, just buy a .410 with rifling at the end so that it's legal to fire .45LC's out of (if you can find, I've only seen one in my entire lifetime, from overseas IIRC, that had just enough rifling at the end of the bore to make it legal).

I don't want one, just stumbled across it on ebay and thought it was odd.

1. Even if it is cheaply made it costs 8-10bucks so even if you got 100rounds it would last
2. I think it would be cool as a training device so teach smaller framed individuals how to handle and work a shotgun without immediatly hitting them with a 12gauge recoil. Baby steps as opposed to trial by fire.
3. It would be a cool "look what I can do" piece

You'd be lucky to have it last for 20 rounds, nevermind 100. Making one out of properly hardened and heat treated 4140 would make them cost MAYBE $20, but they'd last for literally thousands of rounds, if not more.

Yes, I've seen those as well. They need to be made custom for each shotgun model/barrel length, and they're anywhere from $100 on up.
