Hi,
My dad and I have an NFA trust and I wanted to get him a suppressed weapon of some sort as a gift since he has expressed interest and it just became legal to hunt game with suppressors in our state. I would probably want to make it an SBR also to keep it handy.
He's not much of a tacticool type and currently just owns bolt guns in 8mm mannlicher, 30-06, .270, and .243 along with a 30-30 lever action Marlin and a Marlin 60 .22lr.
He mostly wants the gun to shoot at pigs and coyotes at ranges less than 200 yards, although he does hunt deer as well.
My first thought was a .300 blackout AR but on second thought I don't think he's much of an AR type (I'm usually the only one that ever cleans his guns, and I don't get over there all that often).
Is there anything that might work well for him in the calibers he has? He's not opposed to new calibers either.
Thanks!
