I came across an opportunity for a gun trade recently. The gun was a Ruger 77/22. It has an integrally suppressed barrel on it. My question isn't if I need a tax stamp for it, but rather do they need to produce any paperwork to trade the gun? They have no paperwork, no tax stamp, no nothing. There isn't any record of this barrel being on this gun as a matter of fact. So, my question is, can I get in trouble for taking this gun in possession before applying for tax stamp?
