Sure Cycle . . . ?

Without knowing anything about the company, the sure cycle product or the engineering behind it, I have to say that I'm immediately suspicious.

They calim that the Sure Cycle will never rust or corrode .... yet its stainless steel. Stainless steel is not rust or corrosion proof. I am immediately sceptical of a company that claims a stainless steel product will never rust. It seems to me that either they don't understand the metallurgical properties of stainless steel (a worry in itself), the unit is never exposed to conditions which could induce rust or corrosion (in which case the mild steel units they replace would never rust or corrode either), or they're just plain lying (sorry, I meant putting a marketing spin on the truth).

I know manufacturers are constantly thinking of the bottom line on firearms but if this thing truly worked as well as they claim, don't you think the manufacturers would already be doing it?

I think theres a few people here with extensive experience with semi-auto shotguns that already have some pretty good ideas on making them run reliably ..... and as far as I know those ideas don't include a "Sure Cycle".

Some grades of stainless are very near corrosion proof, and Surecycle uses it. They don't rust, and they do hold up. HARDCORE serious waterfowlers use them in lots of cases, usually right after a hunt is ruined by a gun that won't work due to rust in the stock recoil spring assembly.

They are worth the hundred bucks if you hunt hard and long, and aren't willing to lose a day or two due to gun problems. I take a pair of guns and a spare:scrutiny: :scrutiny: on big hunts......

What HSMITH said.

I have used the system installed in SX1's and 1100's.
The fellow with the SX1's hunted all over the world for waterfowl, doves, and feathers I have never heard of. The 1100...fellow heads out at the start of waterfowling season...seen again when it stops. Maybe. May head out to hunt in New Zealand or wherever.

I could not tell a difference in cycling or performance. The guns work, hold up and continue to fell game.

These are serious hard users. I think the one fellow has a dozen SX1's and one has to have a million rds through it by now. His first a '74 model , still in stock configuration. Has character. :)
